New Expert On the Job
Peugeot is importing its new medium-sized Expert van for sale in New Zealand, first arrivals available from early next month.
Chris Brown, CEO of Auto Distributors, expects big things of the vehicle which features an “eight-speed automatic transmission, class-leading payload, high levels of safety and the assurance of an extended warranty.” He said to think of the Expert as a commercial vehicle that drives like a passenger car, with similar safety features.
Just one engine is available, a 2.0L turbodiesel producing 110kW of power and 370Nm of torque. The Expert van has a 1300kg payload, making it amongst the biggest load carriers in the segment. It can also tow braked trailer loads in excess of 2000kg.
Safety features on both vans include six airbags, auto braking and blind spot monitoring, active cruise control, sonar at both ends and a reversing camera.
Both vans have a bulkhead that seals off the passenger compartment from the load bay, making it quieter and easier to heat or cool. Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, a seven-inch colour touchscreen and a five-year/100,000km warranty with Roadside Assistance for the same period.
Accessories run to a wooden floor, wall panel and wheel arch box inserts, a rubber mat for added grip and protection in the cargo area, and a ‘Moduwork’ package for transporting longer items via a through-loading hatch located under the passenger seat.
Another optional extra is a ‘Look Pack,’ which contains body-coloured front and rear bumpers, side rubbing strips and exterior door handles, along with bigger 17-inch alloys and LED daytime running lights.
