Mercedes-Benz goes large at Fieldays
Mercedes-Benz will be at Fieldays with one of the biggest sites in the commercial section, showing off its full light commercial range.
The X 350 d will be there alongside the next-gen Sprinter, while the new GLE SUV will make an appearance, as will the G-professional Cab Chassis.
The range-topping X-Class has been fettled by RVE, which added a unique body kit, suspension lift kit, 18-inch wheels with mud-terrain tyres and a number of distinctive styling elements. The RVE X-Class on show is number 10 of 250 produced with the XY Off-Road Extreme Package.
Meanwhile, the Sprinter is arriving with a fresh look and added safety features, including the new MBUX multimedia AI system.
The GLE SUV has been extensively upgraded, with seating for up to seven passengers for the first time thanks to an optional third row. It has a range of new diesel engines, multibeam LED headlights and the new E-Active Body Control system.
Finally, Merc’s G-Professional Cab Chassis can now tote a 2085kg payload and is capable of hauling a braked trailer weighing up to 3200kg. That’s partly thanks to the 3.0-litre diesel V6 producing 135kW and 400Nm.
