Triumph Motorcycles will unveil a modern Daytona at the British Grand Prix in August.

There will be two versions in fact, one for Europe/Asia and the other for US/Canada. Packing even more power than the 125 horses of the current 765 Street Triple RS, there will be a total of 765 Daytonas made for each of the two regions. The same engine in a wilder state of tune forms the basis for the Moto2 class in the MotoGP competition.

Both models will use a sports-focused chassis and will offer the highest equipment specification yet of any 765 model, along with a special race paint scheme.

They will be ridden on parade laps over the race weekend by two former motorcycle world champions.

Triumph describes the new Daytona as “the closest you can get to a genuine Moto2 factory ride for the road”. More details will become available after the 23 August reveal.
