Suzuki reveals Swift Sport Extreme concept
Suzuki could be looking to take the wind out of Toyota’s GR Yaris-shaped sails with this, the Swift Sport Extreme.
It’s just a concept for now but it sure looks like it could do some damage. There’s a smaller blacked-out grille, a new-look front bumper with bigger air intakes and a sporty front splitter.
The bonnet looks like it’s hiding more than a few secrets, with two more vents and a bigger bulge than the pedestrian Swift Sport. Fatter gloss black fender flares and silver alloy wheels are connected by bigger side skirts.
Around back is a ducktail spoiler mounted above the rear window and, strangely, a second spoiler between the rear lights. There are square exhaust outlets separated by a body colour diffuser.
The windows are heavily tinted and Suzuki hasn’t offered any interior photos so you’ll have to use your imagination for that. Same for the powertrain, although we’re hoping for a fruiter version of the Swift Sport’s 103kW/230Nm 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit, should the Extreme make it to production.
In the meantime, a facelifted Swift Sport should arrive sometime next year.
