Kia Stinger updated
Kia has released the first images of the upgraded Kia Stinger, showing a mild makeover for what it calls its ‘high-performance fastback sports sedan’.
The changes are said to enhance its ‘gran turismo character’, while improving cabin quality. There are a few more colours to choose from too.
Kia says the update adds a ‘modern flair and a subtle hint of aggression to enhance its on-road presence’.
Upfront, the tiger nose grille is positioned between newly designed LED headlamps. These have a new light signature. It’s the same deal at the rear with new combination lamps that extend the full width of the car. The turn signal now features 10 individual LED units arranged to mimic the appearance of a checkered flag.
There is the option to have larger ‘wide-bore’ silver exhaust mufflers out back along with a ‘performance-inspired’ rear diffuser. A Black Package adds matte black wheels, a different spoiler and additional blacked out trim pieces. There are fresh designs for the 18- and 19-inch alloys.
The interior sports a slightly revised design with better materials used and the infotainment system has been updated. The steering wheel and instrument panel feature a metallic finish, the rear-view mirror is now frameless, the dashboard and doors are finished with contrast stitching, while the centre console is available with aluminium or carbon fibre-style trim. Mood lighting is also new with 64 colours to choose from.
Kia is promising more details on the updated model in due course, including the numbers for the updated powertrain.
